China's consumption and tourism sectors witnessed strong rebounds during the recently completed Spring Festival holiday, data from ministry and various service platforms showed.
About 308 million domestic trips were made in China during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, an increase of 23.1 percent on a yearly basis, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said on January 27.
Domestic tourism revenue totaled 375.8 billion yuan (US$ 55.52 billion) during this period, up 30 percent year-on-year, Xinhua reported citing the ministry.
Daily consumption volume of life services in the first six days of the holiday increased 66 percent compared with the same period in 2019, according to statistics from life services platform Meituan on January 27. Consumption volumes from Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Guangzhou topped the nation, the data showed.
