This new TV broadcast tower of Guangzhou, 610 meter and 37 floor high, will be the highest tower in the world.
It will be used for the TV program production and broadcast for the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou in 2010.
The elegant structure stands on the southern waterfront near Xingang Road in Haizhu District, facing the Zhujiang New Town.
Its construction was commenced on the "May Day" in 2006, and is scheduled for completion this June. It will cost about RMB1.6 billion yuan. It covers about 84,000 square meters, including a 454-meters-long body and a 156-meter-long aerial on top.
The project is technically challenging and demanding, according to the constructor.
