As a vibrant and fascinating city, Guangzhou is the home of quite a few Guinness World Record holders. Here are five interesting records set in Guangzhou that you may not have heard about.

The Sky Drop elevates thrill-seekers to a height of 485 meters at the top of the mast of the Canton Tower, from where they are dropped 31 meters back to the top deck at 454 meters. The ride offers two ways of dropping: traditional sitting posture and new standing posture. Riders had better close their mouths tightly while sitting or standing in the free-fall Sky Drop, which falls at the rate of 16 meters per second, in case hearts fly out of their bodies.

Above the Sky Drop, at 488 meters, is a "bubble tram" with 16 glazed cubicles running on a curved sloping rail. Each cubicle can take six persons for a 20-minute ride.
