Have you ever imagined playing sports inside a subway station? A new table tennis center has been set up there, near Exit F of Pazhou Station (琶洲站) on Guangzhou Metro Line 11, with nearly 20 tables that can accommodate 40-50 players at a time. The facility also comes with lockers and a lounge area.

According to a staff member, the center will open as soon as the testing is completed, after which residents can book a table via the WeChat mini program "群体通".

Last October, Guangzhou Metro converted a mezzanine space at the same station into an indoor pickleball center of nearly 1,000 square meters — the first such facility in a metro station in the city. It features 10 professional courts that can hold up to 50 people.

The pickleball center now offers training courses for different age groups. It's open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and visitors can reserve a court by phone. Fees are charged at different rates depending on weekdays, weekends, daytime and evening periods.
