The 2026 Guangzhou Coffee Culture Fair will run from May 1 to 5,  featuring 21 events and four professional competitions. The festival will mark the start of a city-wide coffee season running through July.

Behind the buzz stands a local champion who embodies the city's unique coffee spirit. Muzi, founder of Dream High Coffee and a Guangzhou-based roasting master, says starting a coffee business here is surprisingly relaxed. "The coffee scene in Guangzhou is quite 'hea' (laid-back)," he notes. "Making money isn't the only obsession. As long as we feel happy and enjoy the coffee we love, that's what truly matters."
