Still wondering where to spend the upcoming May Day holiday? If you’re undecided, why not head to Guangzhou for a vibrant celebration? The city’s first-ever Maillard Cultural Festival is set to make a grand debut at Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street in Liwan district.

During the festival, coffee trucks and food stalls will line the street — a must-visit for coffee and cuisine lovers. Beyond satisfying your taste buds, there will also be interactive activities waiting for you.

🌟Maillard flash mob parade

Dates & Time: April 25 & May 1, 4 p.m.-5 p.m.

Highlights: Full-circuit parade across the North Plaza and the entire pedestrian street, featuring stilt-walking clowns and caramel-colored fashionistas ready for interactive photo-taking.

🌟Xiguan gentleman’s vintage stroll

Date & Time: May 1, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Highlights: Vintage-themed vehicles and stylishly retro-dressed youths will cruise along Shangxiajiu in scheduled segments throughout the day.

🌟Maillard street concert

Dates & Time: April 25-26, May 1-5, 7 p.m.-8 p.m.

Highlights: Surprise pop-up street concerts will take place at random times, along with an open song-request platform where visitors can request songs on the spot for free live performances.
