Guangzhou Film Expo calls on filmmakers worldwide: join us this November!

On March 18, during the 30th Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), the Guangdong Outstanding Film Projects Launch was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. As a key showcase of Guangzhou's film and television industry, Guangzhou Film Expo 2026 was also featured at the event.

Rooted in the Greater Bay Area and radiating across the nation, the 2025 Guangzhou Film Expo achieved remarkable results, with 153 projects signed during the expo and an intended transaction volume of RMB 6.683 billion.

Building on the experience of the past two editions, the 2026 Expo will undergo a comprehensive upgrade. While deepening industry connections and providing precise services for exhibitors, it will focus on the integration of technology and industry, with special attention to cutting-edge fields such as AI and virtual technology in film and television creation.


Guangzhou Film & TV Productions


A total of 34 Guangzhou-based film and television production companies presented key works at the event, covering multiple fields including film production, animation creation, and script incubation.

The Chinese animation film plans to fully expand into French-speaking and Spanish-speaking markets, as well as Latin America (primarily Brazil and Mexico) in 2026.


Guangzhou Film Industry Advantages


Data shows that Guangzhou currently has nearly 10,000 film and television-related enterprises, accounting for over 15% of certified film institutions nationwide. By the end of 2025, the city's box office revenue reached nearly RMB 1.5 billion, firmly ranking fourth in the country, with 249 cinemas and 1,783 screens.


Guangzhou's Policy Support


Guangzhou has launched its 2026 application process for film industry support projects, covering the entire industry chain including key film production, distribution and screening, etc. Meanwhile, relevant documents have been issued to encourage the use of cutting-edge technologies such as AIGC to promote the high-quality and intelligent development of micro-dramas.
