Te Waterborne Flower Market will run from February 12 to 14, with related street and waterfront markets open from February 11 to 15. Now in its largest edition to date, the event has expanded from Liwan Lake to the entire Lychee Bay Scenic Area, the Cantonese Opera Art Museum and Yongqingfang. Visitors can board flower-decorated boats to cruise along the waterway, where floral displays and art installations add to the festive atmosphere.

Across the three main zones, the market offers flowers, intangible cultural heritage crafts, creative souvenirs and local snacks. Fresh-cut blooms are sourced directly from the Lingnan Flower Market. Daily performances will feature Cantonese opera, Cantonese embroidery demonstrations, street dance and magic shows, while performers dressed in Hanfu — traditional Chinese clothing — interact with visitors. A stamp-collecting route linking key landmarks in Liwan adds an interactive layer to the experience.

Following the flower market, the Guangzhou Cultural Park will hold its Spring Flower Show from February 16 to March 3. The show features 22 landscaped installations combining flowers and lanterns, alongside more than 22,000 potted plants including peach blossoms and kumquats. A Lantern Festival light display will run from the evening of February 25 to March 3. Nearly 40 events — from calligraphy exhibitions and Cantonese storytelling to lantern riddles and live performances — will take place throughout the show.
