The Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway officially commenced operations on December 22. At 10:30 a.m., the inaugural train, the G9785 smart Fuxing bullet train, departed from Guangzhou Baiyun Station, and arrived at Zhanjiang North Station 92 minutes later.

Connecting major cities including Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhaoqing, Yunfu, Yangjiang, Maoming, and Zhanjiang, the line spans 401 kilometers with a design speed of 350 km/h. During the initial operation period, up to 64 bullet train services will run daily. The fastest travel time from Guangzhou Baiyun to Zhanjiang North is 1 hour and 32 minutes, and to Maoming South is 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Additionally, the connecting section linking the line to Guangzhou Railway Station is under construction and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year. Once ready, passengers will be able to board trains to Zhanjiang, Maoming, Yangjiang, and other destinations directly from Guangzhou Station.
