Aboard Guangzhou-Zhanjiang's 1.5-hour express: a sneak peek ride

The highly anticipated Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway is expected to officially begin operations by the end of this year and is currently in the trial-running phase. Guangzhou Daily reporter today boarded a test train from Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station, experiencing a preview journey that reached Zhanjiang North Railway Station in just 1.5 hours.

Currently, the fastest rail link from Guangzhou to Zhanjiang runs between Guangzhou South Railway Station and Zhanjiang West Railway Station, taking approximately 2.5 hours at best, with most services requiring about 3 hours.

Once the new line opens, travel time from Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station to Zhanjiang North Railway Station will be reduced to just 1.5 hours. With both stations located within their respective city centers, the new line will significantly improve convenience for passengers traveling between Guangzhou, Zhanjiang, and other areas along the route.
