The Guangzhou Metro Pickleball Center, located on the mezzanine level of Pazhou Station on Guangzhou Metro Line 11, has officially opened. Covering nearly 1,000 square meters, the center features 10 professional pickleball courts and can accommodate up to 50 players simultaneously. The facility is currently open for free reservations, transforming a transportation hub into a multifunctional public venue.

Inside the center, 10 professional pickleball courts are enclosed with yellow safety barriers to prevent balls from flying out of the play area. The venue operates daily from 12:00 to 22:00, with reservable time slots from 14:00 to 21:00. Currently, the courts are open for free booking via the WeChat mini-program Qunti Tong (群体通), where users can search for the venue name to make reservations.

Citizens playing pickleball

The establishment of the pickleball center inside the metro space echoes the spirit of "National Games for All" promoted by the 15th National Games and responds to citizens' needs for convenient and efficient fitness. Leveraging the accessibility of metro hubs helps build a 15-minute fitness circle, meeting residents' frequent exercise needs and enabling them to enjoy professional-level sports experiences right at their doorstep. In addition, the venue is equipped with professional facilities, a rest and refreshment area, and a training service area, offering a professional sports experience and marking a shift in sports facilities from professional setups to everyday community use.

In response to public suggestions for more training programs, a representative from Guangzhou Metro stated that the company will enhance reservation services, accelerate the introduction of training courses, and organize related competitions and events. The goal is to diversify and repurpose metro space utilization, creating a multifunctional public service space that integrates sports, recreation, and cultural exchange.
