The 32nd Guangzhou Garden Expo: A celebration in bloom

BY :SilkRoadPost

UPDATED :2025-10-30

The 32nd Guangzhou Garden Expo is now open, featuring 38 specially designed gardens and 64 landscape spots scattered along Guangzhou’s new central axis. Key locations include Huacheng Square, Linjiang Dadao, Haixinsha, and Ersha Island.

So, what makes this year’s expo extraordinary? Let's delve into the key highlights.

One standout is the "Light of Life" exhibition hall in the Art Park of Ersha Island, which focuses on plants that glow at night.

"These plants use innate bioluminescence and require no external power source. They create an enchanting, Avatar-like scene while demonstrating the potential of future green lighting," said Su Kexian, a researcher at Guangdong Sanjie Mucao Biotech Company.

Another highlight is the "International Masters Garden" designed by world-renowned landscape architects from Germany, Italy, France, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, and China.

Among them, the German garden — "Garden of Gardens: Whispers of the Forest" — draws inspiration from Grimm’s fairy tales. A symbolic "crumb-strewn path" guides visitors through a woodland garden, a log-stack fortress, and a vibrant vegetable patch.

What’s more, over 20 supporting events will be held during the expo, including the Ersha Island Four Seasons Concert, Floral Coffee Festival, garden yoga sessions, and special exhibitions for bonsai, orchids, and chrysanthemums.

📌 Time: From October 30 to December 15, 2025

📌 Admission fee: Free

📌 How to get there: Visitors can take the metro to stations including Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou Opera House, Huacheng Dadao, Wuyangcun, Canton Tower, Haixinsha, and Ersha Island for easy access to nearby gardens.
