The 138th China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair, will be held in Guangzhou from October 15 to November 4. To ensure a smooth journey for all participants, Guangzhou Metro has introduced a package of enhanced services, aiming to provide efficient, convenient and safe travel experience for all visitors.

Here's everything you need to know:

☑ All metro lines in Guangzhou now support contactless tap-to-ride payments using bank cards from four major international card networks — overseas-issued Mastercard, American Express, Visa, and JCB cards.

☑ Ticket vending machines in Lines 10, 11, and 12, as well as the second phase of Lines 13 and 14 feature some user-friendly search options like searching stations by full English name, pinyin initials or quick access to popular destinations.

☑ A "Guangzhou Metro" button is now embedded directly in the official Canton Fair App and Canton Fair Supplier App. A single tap on the homepage will redirect you to the Metro's ride code via WeChat Mini Program, enabling instant access.

☑ During peak hours, additional staff will be stationed at Xingangdong and Pazhou stations (closest to the Canton Fair) to assist with ticketing. They will carry "change bags" to provide small-change RMB services and help passengers buy tickets quickly.

☑ Multilingual consulting services will be available, supported by volunteers and 88 translation devices at key metro and intercity rail stations.

☑ "Comprehensive Service Zones" will be set up at Pazhou and Xingangdong metro stations, and Pazhou Railway Station. A "Star Service Team" will be on hand to provide a range of services, including translation, ticketing, and consultation. A dedicated rest area will also be available at Pazhou metro station.

☑ Guangzhou Metro is also launching limited-edition Themed Day Passes, featuring mascots from Guangzhou Metro, Canton Fair, and the 15th National Games & Para Games!

⚫ The passes include:

◾️One-Day Pass: unlimited rides within 24 hours of first use

◾️Three-Day Pass: unlimited rides within 72 hours of first use

◾️Exclusive 5-Day Pass: unlimited rides within 120 hours (a special collectible for the 138th Canton Fair)

⚫ Where to buy your Themed Day Passes:

◾️One-day & Three-day Passes: metro ticket counters inside the Canton Fair complex; the dedicated manual ticket window at Xingangdong Station; ticket vending machines at stations including Pazhou, Xingangdong, Airport South, Airport North, Guangzhou South Railway Station 

◾️Exclusive Day Pass: only at the metro ticket counters inside the Canton Fair complex

☑ The "Yoyo Select" store at Pazhou Railway Station offers luggage storage and self-service ID photo printing. It also has fresh snacks, metro-themed souvenirs, and provides a cozy rest area.

The Canton Fair, widely seen as a barometer of China's foreign trade, is held twice a year in spring and autumn.
