From September 5 to 7, the ninth edition of the Lyon Chinese Food Festival, "Les Baguettes Magiques" (The Magical Chopsticks), was successfully held in Lyon, France. At the invitation of Guangzhou's sister city Lyon, the Liwan district of Guangzhou sent a delegation of skilled chefs to participate the event.

In addition to displays of Cantonese dim sum, Shandong qiaoguo (traditional pastries), and Cantonese-style mooncakes, the festival also featured cultural activities such as Tai Chi and Kung Fu workshops, lion dance performances, tea culture experiences, and traditional handmade lantern making. These events drew enthusiastic participation from local residents and received a warm response.

Guangzhou and Lyon officially became sister cities in 1988 and have since maintained a long-standing partnership, achieving substantial results in economic, trade, tourism, and cultural cooperation. Both cities are renowned as "culinary capitals". Through this event, Guangzhou further enhanced the international influence of Cantonese cuisine, promoted the global reach of Cantonese culture, and deepened practical cooperation between the two sister cities.
