The 2025 Southern China Book Fair will launch its five-day run from August 15-19 at Area B of Canton Fair Complex in Guangzhou's Haizhu district. Under the theme 'Read the GBA, Read the World, Share the Future', this year's edition adopts one physical main venue, one online venue and multiple sub-venues across the nation, promising an international, tech-infused celebration of literature, aiming to boost global cultural exchanges.

One of the highlights is the international cultural hall, a specialized area featuring various pavilions, such as Vietnam Pavilion (Guest of Honor), Southeast Asia Pavilion, Central Asia Pavilion, Arabian Pavilion, European Pavilion, International Publishing Pavilion, and International Art Pavilion, displaying themed publications for overseas readers and latest books from around the world.
Besides the international cultural hall, the fair will set up themed venues such as 'Reading Life', 'Reading the Future', and 'Reading Guangzhou' alongside the Sichuan Pavilion, aiming to create vibrant new experiences for consumers.

Visitors can also enjoy a range of events at the fair, from new book premieres to author meetups and book-signing… International writers such as Flipped author Wendelin Van Draanen (USA), Evan Kyle (USA), and Roderick Levenshart (Netherlands), as well as domestics noted authors like Liang Xiaosheng, Kang Zhen, Ma Boyong and Dai Jianye will appear in person to share, discuss and exchange their thoughts with readers.
In addition to the main venue in Guangzhou, the 2025 Southern China Book Festival will set up 500 sub-venues across libraries, bookstores, and Xinhua Reading Spaces. And locations like Xinjiang's Kashgar, Guangzhou Railway's Baiyun Station, Guangzhou Metro stations, and Liwan's Health & Wellness Park will roll out different events, showcasing Guangdong's innovative approach to promoting reading among all citizens.
