Pony.ai, a Chinese autonomous driving technology developer, partners with Uber to announce a global strategic partnership, under which Uber will deploy Pony.ai's robotaxis onto its platform in the second half of the year.

The partnership will launch in the Middle East market, with plans for global expansion. Once the service is available, passengers will be able to select Pony.ai's autonomous taxis through the Uber app when requesting a ride.

Headquartered in Guangzhou's Nansha district, Pony.ai is rapidly accelerating the commercial deployment of its robotaxi services in first-tier cities across China and global markets. 

Among global robotaxi players, Pony.ai leads with the largest number of ride-hailing and taxi platform partnerships, including Uber, WeChat Mobility Services, Ruqi Mobility, Alipay, Amap Taxi, Singapore's ComfortDelGro, and Luxembourg's Emile Weber.
