On April 22, Evan Kail, the US donor of Japanese war crime photos to China, visited the century-old Chen Clan Academy (Ancestral Temple of the Chen Family) in Guangzhou. 

Under the guidance of He Lifen, the provincial-level inheritor of Cantonese porcelain, Evan Kail gained hands-on experience in the entire creative process of painting Guangzhou's city flower, the kapok flower on a plate, and wrote "USA + China" on it. 

Holding his works, Kail said in Chinese, "The U.S. and China are friends."
