It’s high time for people in Guangzhou to embrace golden rice fields with breeze blowing through. In Baiyun district of Guangzhou, trains, rice fields and sunsets constitute a perfect scene to taste the lovely flavor of autumn.

Xialiang (夏良) Agricultural Park

The rice field in Xialiang Agricultural Park is currently a golden sea. What’s special is that this rice field is adjacent to a railway line, and trains will pass by the field from time to time.

When the golden rice meets the old-style green-skinned train, along with the blue sky and white clouds, it feels like a real-life version of Hayao Miyazaki’s anime world.

Transportation:

Get off at Guangzhou Metro Line 3 Longgui Station (Exit B1), then transfer to bus Nos. 728 or 735 and get off at Baitang Cunkou (柏塘村口) Station.

Xiashi (峡石) Village, Jianggao (江高) Town

In Xiashi Village, Jianggao Town, there is a vast rice field that looks like a finely woven golden carpet. The rice waves rise and fall with the wind. And the fresh fragrance of rice fills the air, making visitors intoxicated.

Transportation:

Take bus Nos. 522 or 523, then transfer to bus No. 723 and get off at Xiashi Village Station. From there, walk to the vicinity of the Xiaxing Fish Farm (峡兴鱼场).

Warm reminder: 

You are advised to hurry up to enjoy the golden sea, since the rice has ripened and the harvest will be coming in the next few days.

Xiangsi Street (相思街), Renhe (人和) Town

Fortunately, there is also another field of rice that is about to turn yellow. At the rice fields on Xiangsi Street in Renhe Town, you can capture the golden rice fields contrasted against the blue sky, white clouds, and the occasional passing airplane.

Transportation:

Get off at Guangzhou Metro Line 3 Longgui Station (Exit A), and then take a taxi to Zhenhu Xiangsi Street (镇湖相思街).
