The Nansha Line of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link will officially open to traffic in October this year, which will greatly facilitate the travel between cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The Nansha Line, also known as the Wanqingsha Branch of Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway, plays an important role in connecting the main line of Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway with the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link.
Consisting of the main line and the Wanqingsha Branch Line, the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway spans a total length of 32.4 kilometers from Guangzhou city to Zhongshan city. It has three toll stations in total, namely Rainbow Station, Nansha Wetland Station, and Nansha South Station.
Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has already opened to traffic since June 30 this year. It is a mega cross-sea passage in Greater Bay Area that features two bridges, two artificial islands, and an underwater tunnel.
After the opening of Nansha Line, the travel time from Nansha district of Guangzhou to Bao'an International Airport in Shenzhen will be reduced to within 20 minutes, while the driving time from Nansha to downtown Zhongshan will be shortened to 15 minutes.
In this way, three major cities of the Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhongshan, will achieve seamless connectivity in Nansha, further facilitate cross-city commuting and accelerate the integration of the Greater Bay Area.
