Starting from September 19, the ancient city gate tower at the east entrance of Guangzhou's Yuexiu Park (nearing Xiaobei metro station) is opened for public visit.
Reconstructed in 2010, the gate tower, as a part of remaining ancient city walls, represents the profound history of the city.
The ancient city wall relic in the park was built in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and is now the longest, most complete and the only existing section in Guangzhou.
The tower has three stories. Visitors can open the windows on the second floor to enjoy the good view of Dongxiu Lake (东秀湖). And there is a terrace on the third floor where visitors can walk around the tower, embracing the breeze and admiring the picturesque park.
