Over 83,000 passengers traveled through Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, statistics of the Baiyun Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection showed. This milestone marked the official surpassing of 10 million inbound and outbound passengers in 2024, representing a 19% increase compared to the total for 2023.

As of midnight on September 16, the Baiyun Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection had processed over 54,000 international passenger flights, a year-on-year increase of 91.6%, with daily passenger numbers stabilizing above 38,000.
According to statistics from the Station, over 1.48 million foreign passengers have entered the country this year. In addition, more than 45,000 eligible foreign travelers were granted 24/144-hour visa-free transit permits, reflecting year-on-year growth of 116% and 284%, respectively. By September 16, over 380,000 foreign travelers had entered China visa-free through Baiyun Airport, with over 230,000 of them from 16 countries, including France and Germany, that benefit from China's unilateral visa-free entry policy, accounting for over 60% of the total.
