As the evening lights start to shine, Guangzhou's nightlife comes alive with sizzling, hot foods, a variety of creative food stalls, and lively craft beer bars.
The "Survey Report on Consumption Habits of Urban Residents" by the Ministry of Commerce reveals that 60% of consumer spending in China occurs at night. The "night-time economy" has become a key driver for expanding consumption opportunities, enriching public entertainment, and stimulating new market dynamics. The vibrant development of the night-time economy showcases a city's confidence and charm through its lively atmosphere and personal touch.
Recently, Guangzhou's Si Hai Cheng has evolved its "night-time economy" by launching the country's first new business model of "7/24", which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This new model features over 160 brands spanning dining, nightlife, and cultural spaces, and aims to explore a new "midnight economy" model.
During the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, Guangzhou's Si Hai Cheng will host a series of special-themed events. These include a collaborative parade with Chimelong, a Mid-Autumn garden party, trendy pop-up shops, fashion shows, family markets, as well as attractions like Sihai Equestrian, a nighttime dinosaur-themed park, Surfskate Park, and art exhibitions. These events aim to share festive joy with the community.
Guangzhou has always had a strong "night-time economy" culture. According to the "2024 Guangzhou Nighttime Economy Development Report", the city's nighttime consumer index ranks fifth in the country. Since 2024, the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, in collaboration with various departments, has identified 15 pilot night markets across all 11 administrative districts of the city.
