The second batch of national famous-brand, special, excellent and new agricultural products has recently been unveiled. Three agricultural products from Guangzhou city were included in the list: Nansha Dongchong sugar cane, Zengcheng blueberry, and Baiyun fresh shoots of rape.
The term "famous-brand, special, excellent and new agricultural products" is used to describe agricultural goods produced in a specific region with a certain production scale and commodity quantity, significant regional characteristics and unique nutritional quality, a stable supply and consumer market, and high public recognition and reputation.
They are certified by the agricultural product quality and safety center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and can be promoted on relevant national platforms.
To date, a total of 36 agricultural products in Guangzhou have been included in the list, primarily from the districts of Baiyun, Huadu, Nansha, Conghua and Zengcheng. In recent years, an increasing number of specialty products of Guangzhou have been selected as national-level specialties, thereby showcasing the city's distinctive food culture, its profound historical heritage and its unique geographical environment.
Baiyun district
National-level specialties in Baiyun include Longgang wampee, Shatian lemon, water chestnut flour, fresh shoots of rape, and yellow chicken.
Huadu district
National-level specialties in Huadu include live pig, watercress, sweet bamboo shoot, fig, blueberry, red tilapia, yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco), large mouth bass, and grass carp.
Nansha district
National-level specialties in Nansha include dwarf banana, guava, sunflower-fed chicken, lotus root, sugar cane, butter crab, Xiaohu shrimp, Nansha crucian carp, Nansha blue crab, and Nansha grass carp.
Conghua district
National-level specialties in Conghua include chicken heart-shaped wampee, rose-scented citrus, Liuxi Guiwei lychee, and lychee honey.
Zengcheng district
National-level specialties in Zengcheng include guava, lychee, chrysanthemum with nectar, blueberry, black olive, Simiao rice, late flowering Chinese cabbage, and Zengjiang big spiny eel.
