Baiyun district in Guangzhou is gearing up to host the prestigious China Paddleboard Orienteering Open Tournament from September 7 to 8 at Baiyun Lake. The announcement was recently made by the Water Sports Center of the General Administration of Sport of China.

The tournament will bring together a diverse group of participants including associations, clubs, enthusiasts, and individual paddleboarders. Participants will compete in various categories such as the open group, university group, U18, and U12. The event will feature two main types of competitions: the short-distance race and the points race.

The tournament is open to paddleboarding enthusiasts aged eight to 65 from across the Chinese mainland. Set against the backdrop of Baiyun Lake, often known as Guangzhou's "Little West Lake", this event takes place at the city's largest artificial lake, a national water conservancy scenic area. Baiyun Lake has become a hub for paddleboarding enthusiasts, attracting numerous clubs and water sports bases.

Baiyun district, with its abundant ecological resources and potential for cultural and tourism development, is well-suited to host high-caliber outdoor sports events. Paddleboarding enthusiasts and spectators alike are invited to experience the thrill and speed of this dynamic water sport in Baiyun.
