Xiguan business circle mainly consists of Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, Yongqingfang, and Link Plaza (领展广场). Visitors can taste authentic Cantonese food, enjoy unique Lingnan style architecture, and experience Xiguan customs and culture in the area from day to night.
Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street
Stretching over 1,000 meters, the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street is the longest and the most well-preserved commercial street in Guangzhou city with traditional Qilou buildings. Visitors are able to find a wide variety of Cantonese delicacies in the street, from time-honored brands such as Lianxianglou Restaurant (莲香楼) and Taotaoju Restaurant (陶陶居), to famous street food shops such as Nanxin Double Skin Milk Dessert Shop (南信双皮奶), and Chen Tian Ji Fish Skin (陈添记鱼皮).
Yongqingfang
As a rejuvenated area in the older part of Guangzhou city, Yongqingfang combines traditional Xiguan characteristics with modern elements. Under the concept of 'micro-rehabilitation', many old buildings have been renovated while retaining their original architectural style and historical value. Nowadays, it serves as one of the most popular photo spots in Guangzhou.
Yongqingfang is hugely popular even on weekdays, with must-see spots such as the Cantonese Opera Art Museum, and the home of Lee Hoi-chuen — the father of the late kung fu superstar Bruce Lee.
To cater to the needs of tourists, Yongqingfang is also home to branded beverage shops, a variety of coffee shops, bars, unmanned supermarkets, bookstores, and many boutique shops.
At night, Yongqingfang hosts various activities such as open-air concerts, creative markets and fashion carnivals, providing many options for visitors and locals to have fun.
