These days, many young people are eager to explore new recreational activities that are cool and can provide them with the most excitement and fun. Well, the city of Guangzhou has more to offer than you can imagine. Follow SilkRoadPost to see what kinds of novel leisure experience you can enjoy.

1. Wind tunnel skydiving

This March, the first all-weather outdoor wind tunnel skydiving facility in South China was opened to the public at Anhua Mall (安华汇) in Guangzhou's Baiyun district. It is also the largest of its kind in the country.

The facility is equipped with vertical wind tunnel machines that can generate powerful and continuous airflow to lift a person high, which simulates free-flying in a safe environment.

The air in the tunnel is adjustable to fit either beginners or advanced flyers, with the maximum wind force scale reaching the 18th grade. And the wind from the bottom travels at a speed of about 200 kilometers per hour, enabling one who weighs around 100 kilograms to fly up to 20 meters off the ground.

People aged 3 and above and weighing under 115 kilograms are welcomed to this exhilarating experience, where you can get a sense of weightlessness and freedom.

2. Zip-lining

The zip-line adventure at the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area has been alluring to tourists. The route connects Moxing Summit (摩星岭) and Huangpodong (黄婆洞) Reservoir in two sections, with a total length of 1,500 meters and being the longest zip line in China. A distance that takes an hour on foot can be finished for only two minutes by the zip-line.

The zip-line ride can hit a top speed of 120 kilometers per hour, with a height drop of more than 200 meters. During the ride, you can have a wonderful aerial view of the mountain scenery, feeling the wind blowing in your hair and your adrenaline rushing.

3. Surfing on artificial waves

A number of indoor surfing clubs with wave simulators have opened in Guangzhou in recent years, allowing people to practice and enjoy the sport at anytime without traveling far to the sea. Guided by professional coaches, even those who can't swim are able to quickly master the skills and feel the charm of riding the waves.

4. Paddle boarding

As a versatile and beginner-friendly activity that can be enjoyed by individuals of all ages, paddle boarding has emerged as one of the most popular water sports in the world and has been a candidate for inclusion in the Olympic Games.

The sport can be carried out on various types of water. Guangzhou's Baiyun Lake, Haizhu Lake, Luhu Lake (麓湖), Jiaomen River (蕉门河) and the Nansha Wetland Park are some of the ideal places for paddle boarding.

When paddling, you can immerse yourself in the natural surroundings, feel the water flowing gently around and breathe the fresh air, which help relax your mind and body. It is also a great body workout that can improve your strength and balance.

5. Skateboarding

Compared to surfing, skateboarding is less confined by weather conditions and venues. It offers more affordable thrills for people to enjoy on urban streets. At Pazhou skate park, Haiyin Bridge (海印桥) skate park, the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center extreme sport park, and the Hero Square in Yuexiu district, you can experience the fast and furious of surfing on land freely.

6. High-altitude extreme sports

The Landmark Alpha adventure park, located on floors 32 to 62 at Canton Tower, is a trendy destination for parent-child activities. The park provides three rope courses with different levels of difficulty and height. Among them, the green line starting at 188 meters above ground has the most entertaining design, while the red line starting at 298 meters is set for ambitious challengers.

As you accomplish the fun and heart-racing games, you will also take delight in the breathtaking panoramic view of the cityscape from the tower, which will leave you an unforgettable leisure experience.
