A new branch of Tianhe District Library situated in the Tianhe Lu Business Circle was officially opened to the public on April 23.

Located on the sixth floor of Guangzhou Book Center's Tianhe store, the library boasts a reading space covering an area of more than 400 square meters alongside upwards of 30 seats.

The public space is also equipped with a 600-square-meter multifunctional hall with 200 seats, which can accommodate approximately 400 people altogether.

The library has a natural and comfortable vibe with wooden tables, cushioned chairs, and rattan-weaved couches and succulent plants. Readers can enjoy natural light through the glass curtain walls while reading.

Other convenience facilities such as Wi-Fi, hot water and trolleys are offered to them as well.

Over 2,000 books are housed in the library, most of which were published after 2022.

People can borrow books after applying for a reader's card and can also borrow and return books freely in Guangzhou Library and all district branches.  

For those who have bound their reader's cards with the WeChat official account "广州市天河区图书馆", they can finish a series of operations via the platform.

Meanwhile, there is an underway exhibition themed on facial makeup of Cantonese Opera, in which 80 pieces of opera masks are on display.

Opening hours of the library:

10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays
9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekends
