Wall paintings arouse memories of 1980s in Guangzhou

On Longjin Xilu (龙津西路) of Liwan district in Guangzhou, a series of nostalgic wall paintings could easily capture the attention of passers-by.
The paintings restore life scenes of the 1980s in the Xiguan area, featuring traditional buildings and old-fashioned cinemas, barbershops, grocery stores and childhood games.
The wall paintings are part of a neighborhood renovation project, which covers a road section of approximately 500 meters. The project also aims to increase the number of planter benches and build more public spaces as well as pocket parks in the neighborhood, according to Chen Dong, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Fengyuan (逢源) Street.
