In the thriving trade between the East and West over three centuries ago, Guangzhou's Guangcai ceramics (Kwon-glazed porcelain), rooted in Lingnan culture, evolved into a unique variety of overglaze enamel ceramics. Absorbing the essence of Western art, it became a crystallization of cultural exchange between China and the West, eventually gaining recognition as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2008. Today, a new generation of Guangcai inheritors boldly experiment and innovate, infusing this traditional craft with fresh cultural vitality.
