Nansha to upgrade environment along Jiaomen River

The Nansha district of Guangzhou city plans to renovate the ecological environment along the Jiaomen River under an ambitious new blueprint, local media outlets reported on August 7.
The surrounding area of the river will undergo upgrades to establish a resilient and sustainable ecological corridor network system. This system will encompass a total of 37 kilometers of inner-river greenway and 49 kilometers of outer-river greenway.
Among them, a 21.6-kilometer inner-river greenway aims at creating an ecological green axis connecting the natural scenes of mountain and sea in Nansha. Urban business districts, residential areas and industrial parks will be established in its surrounding areas.
Activities such as water sports, dragon boat races and boat tours will be carried out to showcase the local characteristics of Nansha. A music fountain square in the waterfront landscape area will also be built to create a romantic atmosphere.
