The 12th Guangzhou International Light Festival is being held from November 21 to 30, resuming offline for the first time after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The festival invites a professional and experienced team to design 25 sets of light art works, which are displayed at two venues. One is situated in the city's new central axis, which consists of the Huacheng Square, Haixinsha Asian Games Park and the Canton Tower, while the other lies on the Pearl River banks, which includes 24 buildings along Yanjiang Lu (沿江路), Haixin Bridge and Liede Bridge.

Using 3D imaging, holographic projection, augmented reality and other advanced technologies, the festival strives to present creative, diverse, artistic and immersive light scenes to visitors, and showcase the dazzling night views and cultural charm of Guangzhou.

At 8 p.m. on November 21, a large light installation lasting for 12 minutes were shown at the Haixinsha Asian Games Park, which kick-started the festival. The opening show depicted traditional Lingnan culture and the thriving Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as well as conveyed the vision of a smart future.

For admission, visitors are required to make a reservation in advance through the WeChat mini program or the official app of  "穗好办".
