Pink, purple, yellow, and red, a vast field of colourful blossoms that stretches about two kilometers has become a new attraction at the Shimen National Forest Park (石门国家森林公园) in Guangzhou's Conghua district.

At an altitude of nearly 800 meters, spider flowers, sunflowers, salvia flowers, globe amaranth flowers, begonias, sunpatiens, and veronica spicata flowers are blooming brightly and waving in the wind, which together create a romantic atmosphere. The breathtaking sea of flowers faces an equally impressive secondary forest of 16,000 mu (about 1066.7 hectares) across a serene lake.

The picturesque scenery has attracted many visitors to take photos and enjoy the nature. The flowering period of these blossoms will last till mid-December. And by that time, visitors will be able to appreciate red maples and rapeseed flowers at the park.

Shimen National Forest Park boasts a forest coverage rate of 96.76%, and has the only existing secondary forest in South China. The park recently entered the first batch of small and micro wetland demonstration sites in Guangdong province.
