The Design Palace in Baiyun unveiled to the public

The Design Palace, the core project of the Design Capital of Guangzhou, was unveiled to the public lately.
The project is undertaken by a team led by He Jingtang, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering, covering an area of 26,600 square meters.
As a large and comprehensive complex, the Design Palace comprises of a number of areas, including exhibition halls of construction and design art, a conference center, a product launch center, an art theater, commercial buildings as well as parking lots. The complex is designed to serve functions of cultural display and education, and meetings and performances holding.
The complex has now become a landmark of the Design Capital.
As for the architectural style, the design team members applied elements of Lingnan region to a huge square structure. And to create more communal spaces for visitors, there is a rooftop platform together with an open-air hanging garden.
