In autumn, Guangzhou boasts beautiful scenery with evergreen trees and colourful plants such as kochia scoparia, bougainvillea, floss silk tree, sunflower and red maple. Silk Road Post encourages you to go beyond the urban jungle and embark on an adventure to discover Guangzhou's natural wonders.

Pink kochia scoparia

Kochia scoparia is an attractive ornamental plant that blooms only in autumn in Guangzhou. The vast pink ocean in Baoqu Rose World (宝趣玫瑰世界) in Conghua district attracts many tourists to take pictures.

Bougainvillea

Blooming bougainvillea can be appreciated in Yuexiu Park, People’s Park, Luhu Park, Liuhua Lake Park, Baiyun Mountain Scenic Spot, Xinjiao Zhonglu (新滘中路), and many flyovers in the city.

Floss silk tree

Like pink clouds in the sky, the magnificent silk floss trees can be seen in Guangzhou from October to December. Some of the places to watch them include Yuejiang Lu (阅江路), Binjiang Lu (滨江路), Dashatou (大沙头), Xinjiao Zhonglu, Yizhou Lu (艺洲路), Chen Clan Academy, South China National Botanical Garden, Haizhu National Wetland Park, South China Normal University, and Software Engineering Institute of Guangzhou.

Sunflower

Gorgeous sunflowers in the Haixinsha Asian Games theme park create a golden scene that reminds people of Vincent van Gogh's paintings. Visitors can enjoy the sunflower field and take photos with them with Canton Tower as a backdrop.

Red maple

Every autumn, Guangzhou's red maple trees contribute to the typical hue of the season. The flaming red leaves in Maofeng Mountain Forest Park (帽峰山森林公园) help you capture the fleeting beauty of autumn in the city.
