Next to the Beijing Lu, one of the most vibrant business circles in Guangzhou, there's a sedate community called Yanyunxi, where the old salt transportation (yanyun) department was located and hence its name. 
With more than 30 historical buildings and deep cultural vibe, this community has become an internet-famous site. 
About half of the permanent residents of the Yanyunxi sub-district are seniors over 60 years old. 
In 2022, Yanyunxi was awarded National Model of Senior-friendly Community. 
Barrier-free public facilities, free hair-cuts, senior's canteen, beautiful rooftop gardens all provide a pleasant living environment for seniors here.
