The city's popularity and good reputation have been very much enhanced by promotional activities and the strategy of branding Guangzhou as a Flower City. During the Spring Festival, 13 flower fairs and one floating flower fair were held across the city. At the same time, Guangzhou launched a flower fair in the United States to publicize the city's scenic spots as well as its unique culture, which attracted significant attention among global media.
