Forty-five people from Iran donated blood at the Guangzhou Blood Center on November 9. Organized by the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou, this blood donation, aimed at enhancing friendship between the people of Iran and China, has been held in Guangzhou for four consecutive years.

To express thanks, the blood center designed a banner saying, "Warmly welcome Iranian friends for their blood donation."

Khalil Shirgholami, the consul general of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou, also joined the blood donation. He said that he has been in Guangzhou for 11 months, and this is the first time he donated blood in the city. "The blood donation is humanity, and through this event, we want to show the sense of friendship and empathy to the citizens of Guangzhou," he said.

Ali Taghvagou, a businessman who owns a company in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, is a first-time donor in Guangzhou. "I used to do this in my country," he said. "Every year I donated my blood two times in my hometown. This is my habit. Also my blood type is B-, which so many people do not have. So I think it is useful and helpful for everybody when I donated.”

A mobile phone accessories exporter, Mohammed, has worked in Guangzhou for over two years. This is the second time that he participated in the event. “I feel great pleasure that I can help and save other people's lives,” he said. “The problem is I must wait for three or four months to donate again. If I could donate every week, I would do it.”
