A special session on tourism cooperation between Guangzhou, Auckland and Los Angeles was held in Guangzhou on November 9, during a large conference on economic cooperation among the three cities.
Hosted by the Tourism Administration of Guangzhou Municipality, the session aimed to promote mutually beneficial cooperation among the three cities and attract more visitors by presenting tourism resources and quality travel routes as well as building various communication platforms.

During the meeting, the cities signed an agreement to enhance tourism promotion, share information and promote a more vibrant market. Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) also signed a cooperation agreement with GZL, a leading travel agency in Guangzhou to jointly develop more travel products.
Attending the session were Liu Yumei, director general of the Tourism Administration of Guangzhou Municipality; Steffan Panoho, head of Tourism at ATEED; Ernest Wooden Jr., president and CEO of the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board; Dai Bin, president of the China Tourism Academy & director of the National Tourism Data Center; scholars from the three cities; and tourism company executives.

Tourism officials from the three cities delivered speeches promoting the tourism industries of their cities and released tourism data from recent years.

Liu said that Guangzhou is a famous tourist and flower city, which attracts many visitors to come each year, especially during its annual Spring Festival Flower Fair. She also introduced the special program that invites 10 families from across the world to spend a Guangzhou-style Chinese Lunar New Year here.

Guangzhou, Auckland and Los Angeles are all major tourism magnets and popular destinations on their separate continents. With direct flights and close cooperation, the three cities see a bright future for tourism development.
