The 2017 Fortune Global Forum, to be held in Guangzhou later this year, will focus on three topics: the future of globalization, innovation and corporate leadership, according to Alan Murray, editor-in-chief of Fortune magazine and chief content officer of Time Inc.

“We think that three hot topics will be worth discussing during the forum," Murray said in an interview on March 2.

The future of globalization is now threatened. Many countries, including the United States and some European nations, have begun to cast doubt on the globalization trend that has emerged since World War II. Therefore, global economic development will be under the spotlight.

The second topic involves innovation. The development of Science and technology, including innovations like artificial intelligence, has brought tremendous changes to almost every field of business. How science and technology will subvert the traditional mode of production will be a focus of the forum.

Company leadership is expected to differ from the past in future years. The impact it exerts will be reflected mainly in three ways. Firstly, it will bring about more technological changes. Second, with the ushering in of a new media era, people are going to increase their requirements on the transparency of companies. Third, people will attach more importance to how many beneficial results a big corporation can create for society. All these concepts are changing the thinking pattern of big enterprises, forcing them to reflect and respond.
