Guangzhou daily Press Group officially unveiled its Twitter account “I love GZ” yesterday, making it the first city media in China to open the Twitter account. Its first tweet is an English message reading “Hi, this is Guangzhou (also known as Canton). The city of flower, the city of great foods, and the city of commerce, is now speaking out its charming voice.”

Guangzhou daily is going to tweet the important news about National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (also called “two sessions”) respectively in English, Cantonese and mandarin, in a bid to spread the voice of the “two sessions” to the world.

Apart from “two sessions” reports, the Twitter will also publish a series of stories covering Guangzhou’s delicious food, beautiful scenery, local customs & history and others to the world, promoting GZ to the international community.
