Guangzhou Metro Line 6, which is scheduled to open next week, is expected to embrace up to 700,000 passengers daily. The U-shaped line will inter-change with 7 stations on other lines, according to the Guangzhou Metro Corporation.

Line 6 passes by several densely-populated residential areas as well as commercial areas. It is expected that Line 6 will serve 700,000 passengers per day in the first month. The stations of Haizhu Square (海珠广场), Ouzhuang (区庄) and Dongshankou (东山口) will be the busiest stations, according to an earlier passenger flow survey.

Also, in order to cope with the large passenger capacity, the minimum intervals between trains during rush-hour will be approximately 3 minutes and 22 seconds and routine crowd control will be about to implemented during rush-hour.

During morning rush-hour (from 7.30am to 9.00am), these 13 stations will implement crowd control: Hengsha, Shabei, Haizhu Square, Hesha, Ruyifang, Cultural Park, Dongshankou, Tianpingjia, Shaheding, Huanghuagang, Donghu, Ouzhuang and Yantang.

During the evening rush-hour (from 5.30pm to 7.00pm), these 9 stations will implement traffic control: Haizhu Square, Dongshankou, Tuanyida Guangchang, Beijing Lu, Cultural Park, Donghu, Ouzhuang, Huanghuagang and Shaheding.

Guangzhou Metro Corporation reminds passengers who live near the above stations to notice station signs, broadcast, Metro TV and Guangzhou Metro official weibo and to acquire latest information about the routine crowd control.
