Guangzhou government has recently released the new national standard of Air Quality Index, including the readings of PM 2.5, Ozone and other major pollutants.
The public can find the readings in the Environmental Protection Bureau's official website

As the website only provides Chinese version, we hereby illustrate how to use the website.
When you get access to the website for the first time, you may be asked to install the Microsoft Silverlight plugin. You can get the latest version at
Then you can see the following page. The pins on the map show the level of AQI in colors of different districts.

Definition of AQI in Colors

Click on the pins and you can see the selected district's AQI reading, level, major pollutants and AQI level meaning.

Click on the names of pollutants in the left column and you can see the distribution of the average level of selected pollutant in the past 24 hours and the level in different districts.

You can also click on the pins to see the selected district's one hour average reading, 24 hours average reading and individual AQI reading of selected pollutant.
