Guangzhou’s first all electric bus line, Line 801, was put into operation this morning. With a total of 26 buses, Line 801 makes Guangzhou the third city in China with a mass usage of electric vehicle buses (EVBs) after Beijing and Shanghai. The buses are said to be capable of running 80 kilometers when fully charged.
Line 801 starts at Guangdong Science Center and runs to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Buses start running at 8:00 a.m., while the final bus leaves at 7:00 p.m. (from Guangdong Science Center) and 8:00 p.m. (from Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall).
Useful tip:
On Nov 19, Nov 20, Nov 22 and Nov 23, the terminal station of Line 801 will temporarily be "Guangzhou University in Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center" station, due to the Asian Games road cycling competition.
