The Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission announced that the province plans to invest 1.083 trillion yuan on 18 major projects to meet civic needs through 2018. Transportation investment accounts for half of the trillion-yuan package and includes 166 sub-projects. Most of this money will be spent in Guangzhou.
The 18 main projects are divided into 9 programs, including rural power distribution, transportation networks, environmental pollution control, education, Internet access, a new talent supply system, and the infrastructure for charging new energy-fueled vehicles. Here are a few highlights of some of the major projects.
