Strawberry Music Festival in Chimelong Paradise

The Strawberry Music Festival and Chimelong New Year Carnival party will take place at Chimelong Paradise on December 31 and January 1. The Strawberry Music Festival, founded in 2009, is one of China's biggest modern music fests. To welcome 2017, Chimelong Paradise is cooperating with the Strawberry Music Festival promoters to deliver a music carnival for everyone. Over 10,000 people will greet the New Year together, and also more than 70 of the theme park's attractions will be operating.

Ticket price: Single day: 180 yuan; Two days: 320 yuan
How to get there:
Take metro line 3 to Hanxichanglong station. A free shuttle bus to Chimelong Paradise is provided at the station.

New Year's Eve Party in Haixinsha

A New Year's eve concert, complete with a lucky draw for visitors, will begin at Haixinsha in Zhujiang New Town at 9 p.m., December 31. Famous pop stars, including Sammi Cheng, Andy Hui, Vincy Chan, and F.I.R will perform and hand out special New Year's gifts. Concert goers will also have an opportunity to play games with the pop stars.

New Year Countdown at Canton Tower

Thousands of people will gather at Canton Tower, the new symbol of Guangzhou, to count down the final minutes of 2016 and welcome the start of 2017.

Take metro line 3 or APM line to Canton Tower station.

Countdown celebration at Baiyun Mountain

Baiyun Mountain, one of the most famous attractions in Guangzhou, will host a countdown celebration including a bell tolling on Moxing Summit and a lion dance to welcome the New Year on December 31. Traditionally, people will climb Baiyun Mountain on New Year's eve to make a wish for good fortune, health, and happiness in the new year.

How to get there:

South Gate: take one of the many bus lines (24, 63, 240, 245, 285, 522) to Yuntai Park terminal station.

West Gate: take a bus to Baiyun Mountain West Gate /Guangdong University of Foreign Studies Station (buses36, 38, 66, 76A,76,127, 223, 245, 265, 529, 805, 864, 891).

Countdown on a Pearl River Night Cruise

Pear River Night Cruise is hosting a New Year's eve celebration featuring special performances, a countdown and balloon launch. T he cruise will depart from Dashatou Wharf at 11:00 p.m., December 31. During the 90-minute cruise, visitors can take in the scenic beauty of Guangzhou while they watch the New Year performance with their loved ones.

Ticket: 108/ 128 yuan
How to get there: Take metro line 6 to Donghu station.
