An exhibition of mechanical puppets from Scotland will be on display at the Guangdong Science Center beginning July 16. The mechanical puppets were created by sculptor-mechanic Eduard Bersudsky and other British machine designers. The exhibit will help visitors learn more about the scientific principles of machinery.
Part of the show includes wood carvings of bears, birds, bellmen, monkeys, mice, cats and other shapes. Visitors will be able to enjoy amusing performances, interactive space and a laboratory that helps explain the magic of mechanical puppets. The exhibition sheds light on the unusual harmony of mechanical engineers and artists working together.
The main part of the show was presented in Glasgow, Scotland, from 1996 until this year, and part of the exhibit has been on tour for over 20 years in Europe. The Guangdong Science Center is the fist stop of the exhibit’s Asian tour.
