Xiang Zepei began playing violin when he was just five and studied under Ma Sicong for 14 years from 1952.

Xiang Zepei was playing violin in a concert held in GuiYang University on Nov. 24, 2010

Xiang's talent in music was confirmed when he won a gold medal in the first National Children's Music Composition at the age of 11. After a series of musical tuition in China and later in Austria, Xiang took the positions of violin soloist, the second then the first violin successively in Beijing Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra of The China National Opera House.
