The Westin Guangzhou has been awarded the prestigious title of "Best City View Hotel" by "Voyage" Magazine. Ms. Carolyn Smith, the General Manager of the hotel, attended the "Hotel & Resort Best Value Awards" ceremony held in Beijing in January.

The "2011 Voyage Hotel & Resort Best Value Awards" campaign lasted about six months, after a collection of thorough inspections and reviews including an audition as well as internet and postal voting. Meanwhile, "Voyage" Magazine employed hotel connoisseurs especially for this campaign to ensure the awards were just and fair. 134 luxury hotels were on the candidate list in China and eventually 38 hotels were given awards and 17 hotels given special recognition.

Ms. Carolyn Smith expressed delight, saying "to be certified as one of the best value a 5-star hotels is a valued justification of our continuous efforts to provide a personal, unique and luxurious stay for all our guests."

The Westin Guangzhou has also accepted an award in Travel + Leisure's "China's Top 100 Hotels 2011" category. The China Travel Award has diverged from the USA's "World Travel Award" since 2009. It has been tailored to the Chinese Tourist market, and has been well received by the industry. As reported, this campaign is fully audited by third parties including mystery guests experiences, internet polls, specialist appraisals and an editor's audit. The judging criteria also take into account the hotel's geographic location, services, catering and how cost-effective the hotel is.
