The fastest channel from Guangzhou North Railway Station to Baiyun International Airport will be built by 2019, through which it will take just minutes to get to the airport. That shortcut, a fifteen-minute car ride, will connect the two of the most important transportation centers in Guangzhou.

Up till now, there have been only two ways, by car, to reach Baiyun Airport starting off from the North Station: Line S114 (Yunshan Avenue)-Eastern extension of Yingbin Avenue -Airport Expressway, and Line S118 (Huadu Avenue)-Airport Road.

The reconstruction and expansion will be mainly directed against Xinjie Avenue and Yayao Road.

The new east-west arterial road in Huadu District will benefit from construction of the airport economic center and the transportation transfer between air and rail.

The latest report from the environmental impact assessment (EIA) shows that the initial design of the urban expressway, designed with a speed limit of 80km/h, will be changed to an 8 kilometer arterial road and impose a speed limit of 60km/h.
