Vancouver Flights Increase, Maldives Flights Resume
China Southern will increase its number of Vancouver-bound flights to five a week from Jun. 23. And flights between Guangzhou and Male, the capital of the Maldives, will be back to normal from Apr. 22.

China Southern will increase its number of Vancouver-bound flights to five a week from Jun. 23. And flights between Guangzhou and Male, the capital of the Maldives, will be back to normal from Apr. 22, as the situation in the popular travel destination has improved, according to the airline.

The Guangzhou-based airline currently runs three flights a week to Vancouver – it wants to increase the flight frequency this summer to meet the need of booming passenger flow. The flights will be scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays every week taking off at 2pm and landing at 10:45am local time in Vancouver. The return flight will leave Vancouver at 12:40pm and land in Guangzhou at 4:55am.

In Canada, China Southern works with WestJet to help passengers transfer to 26 different cities in the region including, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa and Edmonton. Package tickets will be available at China Southern from Apr. 16.

The airline has operated between Guangzhou and Vancouver since June 15 last year and about 44,000 used the service up until Jan. 31, 2012.

As for the Maldives-bound flights, they will be scheduled for every Thursday and Sunday. They will take off from Guangzhou will be at 4:30pm, and landing in Male at local time 7:50pm. The returning flight will take off at 9:10pm and land at 6:10am.
